The Haughton Hub at Hollinswood

Telford & Wrekin Council has developed a partnership arrangement between special schools and a number of mainstream schools to broaden the range of provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Recommendations were made to develop specialist provision hubs within mainstream schools. The hubs cater for children with social communication needs, including those with Autism and associated Cognition and Learning difficulties. This development provides an inclusive option which bridges the gap between special and mainstream schools, offering greater choice for parents and enabling children with more complex SEND needs to be educated alongside their mainstream peers.

The first primary hubs are now open at Holllinswood Primary School and Nursery and Old Park Primary School. Whilst these schools host the hubs, they are managed in partnership with Haughton Special School.

If prospective families want to find out more about the hub (which is called Base 15 at our school) follow the link to the Base 15 page.
